The concern
Who represents the owner if the planning office cannot be on both sides?
What we did
Foundational document, clear interfaces, architect's DNA in the owner's role.
What was the goal?
Professionalised owner's side, collaboration extendable to further projects.
What was the initial situation?
Architectural firms design buildings. Consistently representing the owner's interests is a separate task, and for high-end projects, an independent body fulfils this role better than the design firm itself.
They are the owner's side we have always wanted, without affecting our planning.
Owner of an architectural firm, Zurich Oberland region
What have we accomplished?
Together, we developed a foundational document for collaboration with clearly defined interfaces, an agreed-upon scope of services, and established escalation procedures. Everything was on the table before the project even started.
What was the result?
The initial inquiry led to a collaboration that has expanded to include other projects. The owner has a reliable partner who consistently represents their interests throughout the project process.
