The concern

Does the neighbouring project appear oversized, or is this perception subjective?

What we did

Review project documents, compare building and zoning regulations, and formulate a factually justified objection.

What was the goal?

A fact-based approach without emotional escalation in the neighbourhood.

What was the initial situation?

A building project had been submitted for the neighbouring property, which appeared significantly disproportionate in volume, height, and mass compared to the surrounding buildings. The crucial question was whether this was a subjective perception or whether the project actually deviated from the applicable building regulations, and what could be done in this case.

Their assessment gave us the confidence to proceed objectively rather than out of frustration.

Private owner, Eschenbach SG

What have we accomplished?

I obtained the project documents from the municipality and analysed them systematically. A comparison with the applicable building and zoning regulations revealed several points where the requirements had been either not applied or interpreted very broadly. Based on this, I prepared a well-founded objection, which was submitted on time.

What was the result?

The subsequent proceedings confirmed the expert assessment. The construction project had to be adjusted in several respects, and the objectors were able to protect their interests on a factual basis.

Is a neighbouring project raising concerns?

An independent expert review provides the clarity necessary for a factually justified objection.
