The concern
Is the available space actually sufficient for two families plus optional rental income?
What we did
Develop a holistic concept for space, usage, and furniture, and work with dual functions.
What was the goal?
A holiday home that works convincingly for two families and as a rental property.
What was the initial situation?
The existing house, located directly on the beach, offered a unique location but limited space. The owners wanted to share it with another family and optionally rent it out, which required a spatial and usage concept that went far beyond a classic floor plan.
They gave us a house into which two families will move.
Private owner, Spain
What have we accomplished?
I developed a concept with dual-purpose rooms, optimised sleeping capacities, and an outdoor space that can be used as a fully-fledged living area. The floor plan was reorganized to allow for multiple sleeping arrangements without creating the impression of makeshift beds, and to ensure the privacy of both families in every configuration.
What was the result?
The preliminary design allows two families to use the property simultaneously and offers an optional rental, providing a compelling living experience that befits its beachfront location.
This is how the collaboration went

In a small space, the concept is what matters, not the floor plan.

Efficient land use
Maximum benefit in a limited space.
Dual use possible
Owner-occupancy and rental within the same concept.
High quality of stay
The indoor and outdoor areas are actively connected.

Preliminary design as a basis for the local architect.
